I LUV GAMBLING

You start with five dollars and a coin. Heads pays your stake back double, tails eats it. Everything else in the game is an argument with that.

  • Starting bank
    $5.00
  • Minimum stake
    $0.25
  • Upgrades
    58 nodes, 5 rings
  • Real money
    None. Ever.

The shape of the game

One coin. Then a factory.

Set a stake and flip. Your bank does not move while the coin is in the air, and neither does anything else. When it lands the bank changes once, flashes green or red, and the tape records it. Heads is a crown, tails is a skull.

Every flip where all your coins come up heads pushes a combo multiplier up by a tenth. Any tails knocks it straight back. Splitting your stake across more coins trades the combo away for consistency, which is why buying every upgrade is not automatically correct.

The odds panel shows BEST BET: the fraction of your bank that grows it fastest without wrecking it. Betting far above it is how you go broke with good odds. That is the only real skill in the game, and it is enough.

The web

Upgrades live on one map with no locked paths. It spreads outward from the coin across five rings and 58 nodes; a node opens once you own either neighbour it hangs off, so there is always more than one way out. Most nodes are small stacking upgrades. A handful change how the table works: THE CLAW flips for you, HOUSE ACCOUNT sizes your stake, SAFETY NET, THE FACTORY, PERPETUAL MOTION, PANDORA.

Under the table

Go broke and there is a floor under the table where change keeps turning up whether you are watching or not. Pick up enough for a minimum bet and you climb back on your own. Deep in the web, folding money starts appearing down there too.

Cash out

Past $1.00E40 you can walk away for chips. Chips are permanent, and cashing out later is worth more than cashing out early, so the pull is always to go one ring deeper first.

Screens

Pixel art, drawn in code.

The table is a tiny software raycaster with real lighting, dithered down to an eight-step wood palette so it still reads as pixel art. The camera leans with your cursor.

Good to know

  • Progress saves in your browser every few seconds and when you close the tab.
  • Leave with THE CLAW running and you get up to two hours of offline catch-up.
  • The whole game is one HTML file. It works offline once loaded.
  • There is no real money anywhere in this. It is a game about a habit, not a way to feed one.
