KEO Duel

Tiny sword duels with dice. Pass one iPhone back and forth, choose sword attacks and defenses, roll, and watch the pixel fighters act out the result. Every round is quick, dramatic, and a little ridiculous in the best way.

KEO Duel on an iPhone: two pixel sword fighters mid-swing in front of a castle
How a turn works

Pick a move. Roll. Argue about it.

The attacker picks an attack (Strike, Stab, or the heavy Downward Strike), optionally adds a Dash Forward, and rolls two dice for attack power. The defender picks a defense that is legal against that attack (Block, Parry, Quick Strike, Dash Back, or the new Hilt Bash) and rolls to see what happens.

The twist is initiative. A good Parry or a clean counter does not just stop the hit, it steals the turn. Matches swing back and forth instead of politely alternating, which is where the drama comes from.

The rules started life as an original tabletop game played with two real dice and something to count health. The app is that game, cleaned up into an engine, with animated pixel fighters and a combat log that explains exactly what happened each round.

Solo play

A CPU opponent plays both offense and defense, with three calibrated difficulties: Easy (you win about 80% of the time), Normal (about 50%), and Hard (about 15%). The win rate comes from how well the computer plays and rolls, not a rigged result.

Screens

Two fighters, one phone.

Status

Version 1 is finished. The App Store is next.

Version 1 is feature-complete and verified: two-player and single-player vs CPU, three difficulties, sound, haptics, and a compact battle stage. It is offline, local, and collects nothing. Version 2 is already in the works with new moves and combos, better art and sound, and, eventually, playing a friend on another phone.
